NORWAY – James L. Cordwell Jr., 55, of South Paris died Sunday, June 15, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston, on June 27, 1952, the son of J.L. Cordwell Sr. and Arlene Bubier Cordwell Plummer. He attended schools in Oxford and had been a house painter for many years, working for Chuck Bonney and Rick Cummings. He was later employed at Keiser Homes and Burlington Homes.

He jumped railroad cars through every state except Alaska and Hawaii. He enjoyed football, camping, fishing, horseshoes and hanging out with his grandchildren. He loved visits from his children and he had a great sense of humor. He always remained friends with his ex-wives.

He is survived by his mother of South Paris; his life long partner, Darlene Paine of South Paris; sons, Kenneth and James III, both of South Portland; daughter, Jeannie of South Windham; sons, Jason Moxcey and Justin Cordwell, both of Old Orchard Beach; daughter, Heather Cordwell of Portland; son, Antonio Cerrato of South Paris; daughter, Crystal Hamner of South Paris; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Nancy Cordwell of Alabama, Jean Pulkkinen of Bridgton, Sally Haley of Porter and Constance Cordwell of California; two brothers, Mitchell Plummer of Windham and Stanley Cordwell of Bethel; and nephews, Willard Pulkkinen, Kalli Pulkkinen and Sean Moxcey.

He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Cordwell.
