AUBURN – Kory Norcross struck out 13 to lead Gee & Bee to a 14-5 victory over Pepsi in Auburn Suburban Little League softball.
Norcross also went 3-for-3 at the plate. Makayla Norcross added to the hit parade with three. Katherine Peterson and Megan Fretis pounded out two apiece, while Emily Albert, Kailey Norcross, Karli Stubbs, Tianna Harriman and Ashlee Arnold each added a hit.
Catcher Makayla Norcross made a great throw to Kory from the backstop to cut down a potential Pepsi run.
Danielle Rock and Kelsey Butcher delivered the hits for Pepsi.
Pepsi 11, Healey 3 – Emily Bolduc belted a triple and two doubles to lead Pepsi in a resounding effort. Danielle Rock ripped a triple.
Kelsey Butcher and Emily Bolduc shared the pitching duties, striking out a dozen. Brittany Bell whiffed nine for Healey of Lewiston. She also reached base four times. Dominique Cyr got aboard three times to help Healey’s cause. Erica Laueke doubled, as well.
ASLL Major Baseball
AUBURN – Pepsi defeated East Auburn, 4-2, in an Auburn Suburban Little League Major Division pitchers’ duel. Pepsi’s Ian Mileikis limited East Auburn to one hit and struck out 11 in 5 2/3 innings, while counterpart Luke Sterling only yielded four hits and struck out five.
Brandon Polisky was a repeat hitter for Pepsi. Sterling and Cory Henderson collected hits for East Auburn. Elijah Moreshead picked up the save for Pepsi.
East Auburn’s Matt Verrill and Pepsi’s Noah Yarnevich each played strong defense.
Apple Valley Babe Ruth
WINTHROP – Winthrop ran its record to 6-0 in Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball with a pair of recent victories.
Ryan Castonguay stroked three singles to lead the attack in a wild 15-14 win over Monmouth.
Kam Souza clubbed a double and Billy Gordon added a single for Winthrop. Roy paced Monmouth with three singles. Neal tacked on a triple and a single, and West whacked a double. Ryan Conant was the winning pitcher for Winthrop.
Travis Luce hurled the shutout in a 10-0 triumph over Turner II. Castonguay clouted two more singles. Chris Bowers contributed a double, and Colby LaFlamme also racked up a base hit. Theiss singled for Turner.
