STRONG – Franklin County deputies on Tuesday were investigating eight to 10 burglaries at camps on or near Porter Lake.

Most of the break-ins discovered by mid-afternoon Tuesday were on Sweet Pond Lane, sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said. There were also burglaries of camps on other roads, he said.

“This is a lot of criminal mischief: broken glass, ripped screens,” Yeaton said. “Everything was rummaged through.”

He wasn’t yet sure what was taken.

“Some forensic evidence has been attained and the investigation will continue,” Yeaton said.
