WILTON – Seven firefighters were honored for their years of service at the annual town meeting Monday.

After the firefighters escorted World War II hero Philip Walters to the front to be honored, state Rep. Tom Saviello called the members back, and they were given certificates and a round of applause.

Members included Kendall Burdin, who has served 38 years; Larry Hand, 34 years; Chief Sonny Dunham, 30 years; Tom Doak, 25 years; George Guptill, 23 years; Mike Lilley, 22 years and Mike Warren, 20 years.

Dunham presented a check for $4,250 to selectmen. The department raised the money to go toward the purchase of a squad truck.
