WASHINGTON (AP) – The IRS is giving storm and flood victims in Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin more time to make quarterly estimated tax payments that were due Monday.
The tax agency earlier this spring extended filing and payment deadlines for those in parts of Maine and six other states affected by natural disasters. The Internal Revenue Service says new due dates vary, depending upon location, and details are available on the “Tax Relief in Disaster Situations” page on the IRS Web site.
The IRS added that taxpayers in these areas who suffered uninsured or unreimbursed property damage can choose to claim these losses on their 2007 tax returns.
