AUBURN – Leona H. Duchette, 97, of Mechanic Falls died Monday, June 16, at Hospice House.

She was born in Oxford, on May 11, 1911, the daughter of George and Rosie Brissette Smith. She attended school in Oxford and had been employed as an assembler at the paper mill in Mechanic Falls, retiring in 1974. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, visits with family, eating out, traveling and reminiscing about the old days.

She is survived by a son, Clyde F. Holt and his wife, Patsy, and family of Oxford; a daughter, Marceline Holt and family of California; two daughter-in-laws, Mary Holt and family of Oxford and Betty Holt and family of Poland; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Clyde F. Holt Sr. and Wilfred “Shorty” Duchette; sons, Kenneth, Robert, Rexford, Fredrick and Roger; and daughters, Dorothy and Phyllis.

The family wishes to give thanks to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, who gave special care, respect and guidance to Leona. Special thanks to Betty Holt for her loving care of gram.
