FARMINGTON – Tiger Lilly is an orange tabby-Maine Coon mix presently staying at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

She is about 2 years old and loves to lie in people’s laps. She will normally be on top of the lobby desk begging for attention. Staff said she loves good head scratches and belly rubs.

She is an affectionate cat who would do well in most homes as long as she is the top cat, they said. She will even race a person to the couch so they can sit down and have her on their lap.

Staff said the reason that she has not been adopted yet is that she doesn’t get along with dogs and she only likes one or two other cats.

She would do best in a home where she gets spoiled and she would be the only one getting attention.

But, they said, she is a great cat and deserves a home to call her own. Tiger Lilly is just waiting here to find the love of her life.

There are still many other cats at the shelter that want to find loving homes. Those wanting to adopt a cat, may tell staff what they are looking for and they will match them up with a pet.

The shelter is hosting its annual kitten shower from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the UMF North Dining Hall. There will be games and refreshments. Cat gifts would be welcome. Call 778-2638 for more information.
