LEWISTON – Robert H. Chabot, 92, of Russell Park Residential Care and formerly of 292 Webber Ave., died Sunday, June 15, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, a son of the late Joseph and Laura Gauthier Chabot. He was educated in Lewiston schools. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was married Nov. 9, 1940, to the former Florence A. Dostie. She died July 25, 2003.

He worked 40 years at Koss Shoe as a stitcher and later at Knapp Shoe. He also worked at L & A Grocers, until he retired.

He was a member of the Lewiston Catholic community at Holy Cross Parish and was also a member of Holy Cross Senior Citizens, American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston, Pastime Club and Montagnard Club.

He was an avid golfer, loved to play cribbage and watchboxing and hockey. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball and baseball with local teams. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his three daughters, Doris Ellison-Chabot of California, Dolores Blondin and husband, Gerard, of Auburn and Diane Rioux and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; his grandchildren, Scott, Christy, Nicole, Chad, Anthony, Alan, Michelle and Kevin; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Dumais; and a sister-in-law, Dora Chabot of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cindy; three sisters, Corrine, Cecile and Solange; and two brothers, Ronaldo (Nel) and Mozart (Larry).

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Russell Park Residential Care for the loving care given to Mr. Chabot.
