BANGOR (AP) – A 33-year-old Russian woman has been sentenced to 98 days in jail for interfering with a flight crew on a flight from Moscow to New York.
Natalya Viktorovna Aksenova was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Bangor.
She was also ordered to pay Delta Airlines more than $17,000 in restitution.
According to court documents, Aksenova became intoxicated while on a Delta flight in March. She pushed a flight attendant against a wall, refused to stay in her seat and wouldn’t move out of the aisle when food was being delivered to passengers.
The captain landed the plane in Bangor, where Aksenova was arrested.
