LEWISTON – Endovenous laser treatment, or EVLT, an alternative to surgical varicose vein stripping, will be the topic of Dr. Kenneth Cicuto, an interventional radiologist, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.

The presentation is part of the Entrees to Health series at St. Mary’s Health System.

EVLT is one of the newest treatments for varicose veins. It is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require anesthesia or hospitalization. The treatment takes less than an hour to perform.

Cicuto will discuss the benefits of the procedure and who is a candidate for treatment. He will also discuss other options for varicose vein treatment.
