Antique appraisals

OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Kay House Museum, Pleasant Street. A business meeting and program on celebrating July 4 will be held, followed by refreshments.

The society will hold its first antique appraisal event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Kay House Museum.

Peter Cushman, a local antique dealer, will be available for appraisals. The cost will be $5 for two items to be appraised. There will be old-fashioned lemonade and cookies for sale. All proceeds will go to the restoration fund for the museum.

The Kay House is open to the public every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. for anyone looking for information on town or family history. For more information, contact Doreen Bartlett at 743-2621.

Club lawn sale

OXFORD – A two-day lawn sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, at Crestholm Farm, Route 26, Pigeon Hill. Proceeds will go to the Rock-O-Dundee Riders Snowmobile Club of Oxford. For more information, call 539-2616.

Slide program

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will meet on Monday, July 14, for a 6 p.m. potluck supper, followed by a short business meeting and a slide presentation by Milt Inman.

The meeting is open to the public; bring a favorite dish, salad or pie. For more information, call 674-2507.

The society will hold its annual hall yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, with a homemade bake sale along with hot dogs, beverage, coffee and doughnuts.

Members are in need of good, clean used items for the sale; no computers, appliances or items that cost money to dispose of. For pickup or delivery, call Ted and Betty Jones at 674-2507.

Members are asked to pick up dishes left after the supper.
