Dear Sun Spots: I really enjoy a lot of shows shown on Fox channel but can’t believe they have such terrible closed captions. I have tried to contact them in this matter but did not succeed. Maybe you can shed some light on this matter. I would greatly appreciate it and probably so would other hearing impaired people. Thank you for your time and keep up the great work. – Miriam , No Town.

Answer: We spoke with Dave Cox, chief engineer at Fox 23 in Portland. He assured us that the captioning for Fox 23 is at the correct level on their end and noted that this has been a problem for some time. He encourages you to call your cable provider with the issue. If you receive cable through Direct TV or Dish Network please make them aware. He mentioned that over the air viewers (people who use antenna) or viewers who subscribe to cable through companies such as Time Warner usually do not have issues; in fact, if you watch with an antennae he believes you will be the first to have a problem. Also, if you do not have Direct TV or Dish Network, please contact the Sun Spots column and we will put you in touch with Mr. Cox so he may help you resolve the problem.

Dear Sun Spots: You continue to be the highlight of the daily paper. A year or two ago you mentioned about my Red Hat clothing items that are available here in Lewiston. I have had local ladies, groups and chapters contact me and invite me to their meetings. I would like your Classy Red Hat readers throughout your extended distributing area to know that Tees an More is still operating in Lewiston. I can be contacted at 514-4546 or e-mail at teesanmore@aol.com. Your section provides a wide range of information and helps so many people. Keep up the great work. – Clem Clements, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: This is in response to Go Green Club at Leeds Central School, Leeds, in today’s paper (6-10-08). There is a recycle company called ReHarvest that currently collects paper from CMCC. They pick it up and take it to where it needs to go. My name is Jackie and I am chairwoman of the Auburn Recycle committee. This is one of the things that the committee is concerned about, and we would like to help you find a solution to your problem. Give ReHarvest a call and see if they can help you. There are several recycle options, but transportation is the one big draw back. Please feel free to contact me at my business, The Garden Shed, 512-2479 for any more assistance. I’m sorry I don’t have the number for ReHarvest. Maybe Sunspots can supply it or you can call CMCC. Good Luck. – Jackie, Auburn.

Answer: Jessica at ReHarvest did confirm that they collect paper from CMCC. They are located at 66 Milliken St. in Portland and may be reached at (207)797-7997.
