GRAY – Relief pitcher Shane Ciriello got out of a no-out, bases-loaded jam of a tie game and New Auburn went on to score five unanswered runs to pull away for a 12-7 victory over Cole Farms in the American Legion Zone III season opener.
Devin Flynn led the offense with four hits and five RBIs.Corey Larue added three hits and starting pitcher Michael Muise had a pair of singles. Kyle Bussiere added a triple for NAL.
Owen Chaplin and Tyler Valente had two hits apiece for Cole Farms.
Gilman Electric 6, Brunswick 3
BRUNSWICK – Gilman Electric used a four-run outburst in the second inning and coasted to a 6-3 victory over Brunswick.
Tyler Merchant had a double and a single for the Mechanic Falls-based club, while winning pitcher Jake Pelletier added a pair of singles. Dave Longley was the losing pitcher.
