NORWAY – Diane Talon, RN-C, Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital, hosted her first class in advanced fetal monitoring at the hospital recently.

Talon will hold the next advanced fetal monitoring workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the hospital. Those wanting more information should call 743-1562, ext. 380.

Talon attended the sixth annual National Conference on Fetal Monitoring in Las Vegas in 2005.

She became certified in electronic fetal monitoring after completing an advanced course and demonstrated knowledge through successful completion of an extensive test.

The EFM certification may be renewed annually with verified completion of a full-day course of advanced fetal monitoring.

After many months of preparation, that included setting up a program of teaching and having it accredited, Talon hosted her first class for RNs specializing in labor and delivery and will teach the second class.
