AUBURN – Members of the 619th Transportation Company will host a collection drive for one of their own Saturday at Kohl’s department store on Mt. Auburn Avenue.
Sgt. Christopher Loring and his family lost their home to fire Thursday, after lightning struck their apartment building at 2 Hill St. in Paris. The family lived in the top floor apartment.
The family lost everything in the fire and would gratefully accept donations of household goods, towels, toys for their 6-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, and clothes.
The collection will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kohl’s parking lot. Sgt. Loring is expected to attend.
Donations may also be mailed to the Family Readiness Group at the National Guard Armory, 1072 Minot Ave., Auburn, ME 04210.
