WINDSOR, Conn. – Gail H. Smith, 53, of the Poquonock section of Windsor, Conn., beloved wife of Paul D. Smith for 35 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, at her home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1955, in Hartford, Conn., to the late Walter F. and Mildred E. (Seam) Hadden Sr. She was raised in the Poquonock section of Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1973.
In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Gail was an instructor at the Poquonock Playschool, volunteered with VNA Hospice as well as with the American Red Cross.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Poquonock.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her two loving sons, Brian T. and Kevin M., both of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Joyce A. Hazelton and her husband, Ron, of Florence, Texas; a brother, Walter F. Hadden Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of East Hartford; and a special “sister,” Linda Shanahan, of Poquonock. Additionally, she is survived by her special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her loving puppies, Chewy and Fred.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the folks at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, particularly Dr. Jeffrey Baker; her angels, Helen and Shiela; and to Tre Johnson, for her music that brought Gail joy each day. The entire family is grateful to the dear family and friends that so tirelessly supported Gail through her battle.
