Roland Chabot of Auburn tears down the Bates Mill Executive Building in Lewiston on Friday. Demolition work began June 14 and crews should finish up on Tuesday said Chabot, owner of Roland’s Demolition. The building impeded traffic flow between mill buildings No. 1 and No. 2 and needed to come down for safety reasons. Entry way renovations have begun behind the executive building. New elevators and a natural light atrium will be part of the new area, said Allan Turgeon, property manager for the Bates Mill Complex. “There will be a real visual change from Canal Street,” said Turgeon.
