RANGELEY – The Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum will hold its annual fundraising auction at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Museum Building, Route 16. Auctioneer Stephen Richard will be at the gavel once again. Everyone is welcome to view the items beginning at 9 a.m.
Due to local merchants, the museum auction will feature a variety of items: gift certificates from local stores, golf passes; adult one-day ski passes; restaurant or motel certificates; and savings bonds. Out-of-town businesses have also sent donations.
Many individual donors have already shown their support of the museum and have donated furniture, dishes, paintings and other items. Local handmade crafts, specialties of the auction, will once again be up for bid. International items from Germany will also be offered.
The kitchens of many Rangeley cooks, such as Carol Haley, Beverly Hill, Lynnie Raymond and Audrey Stevens, will be humming as they prepare pies, fudge and other home-baked goods.
Tickets for the fall raffle of a white Yamaha Phazer GT snowmobile will also be on sale at the auction.
To donate, call Rodney Richard at 864-5595, and volunteers will pick up items.
Other events will be held in the 29th anniversary year of the museum. A knit, crochet and craft sale will open its doors at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 19, and the logging festival will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday and by appointment by calling the Richards at 864-5595.
