BANGOR – Cecile R. Dubois, 90, formerly of 105 Randall Road in Lewiston, passed away Monday, June 23, at St. Joseph’s Hospital with family at her side. In recent years, she had lived with her son and family prior to residing at Ross Manor in Bangor.
She was born in Frenchville, Sept. 29, 1917, a daughter of Henri and Marie (Dubois) Gaudreau. She was educated in Frenchville schools, but was a longtime resident of Lewiston, where she and her husband raised their family.
She was married in 1946 to Edouard “Ned” Dubois, who passed away in December 1970. She worked many years in local shoe shops until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Holy Family Church, the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality and the Lewiston Senior Citizens. Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were reading and watching game shows, especially “Wheel of Fortune.”
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves a son, Russ Dubois and wife, Linda, of East Corinth; two granddaughters, Cindy Hatch and husband, Gene, of Howland and Crissy Feeley and husband, Mike, of Fitchburg, Mass.; a sister, Gladys Thibodeau of Lewiston; three brothers, Leon Goudreau of Connecticut, Louis Goudreau and wife, Shirley, also of Connecticut, and Maurice Goudreau of Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edouard; a son, Paul Dubois; and a sister, Theresa Ouellette.
