MADISON, Wis. – James J. McHale, 61, formerly of Rumford, passed away Thursday, June 5, at the VA Hospital from complications after a lung transplant.

He was born March 5, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of James and Yvonne McHale. He graduated from Mexico High School.

His career included owning portrait studios in Maine and Texas. He earned many awards for his outstanding ability in the portrait photography field.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judith (Perry) McHale; his mother, Yvonne McHale; brother, Gary McHale; and his dog, Zena.

He was predeceased by his father, James M. McHale.
