AUBURN – A hard-working and thankful new alumnus who put money aside so others could benefit from the help she received was recognized last week at Central Maine Community College.
Tracy Hall of Lewiston gave the donation as a result of hard-earned money from working two jobs as a rehabilitation specialist, said Dorry French, coordinator for the Early College for ME program.
Representatives from CMCC and Early College for ME recognized and thanked Hall in a ceremony held at the college. Hall, who participated in the Early College for ME program, graduated from CMCC in 2005 with an associate’s degree in early childhood education and from UMA in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in mental health and human services.
Hall made the contribution to both the college and the Early College for Me program, a college transition program now offered in 74 high schools in Maine through the Maine Community College System.
Hall is employed as a home rehabilitation specialist by Merrymeeting Behavioral Health Associates in Brunswick. She also works as a community case manager at the Progress Center in Norway. The agency provides rehabilitation specialist care to adults.
In speaking about Hall’s donation, French said, “This is a gift Tracy made on her own; she is not rich. She works hard for a living. But she wanted to do this and sacrificed to make this gift.”
