When the digital TV signal transfer takes place in February 2009, the poor, working stiff is getting it put to him.

Old televisions (as recent at two years old) will need a converter box if not on cable or dish. I doubt if there will be the same reception. Portable, battery-operated TVs will be worthless, as converter boxes require AC power.

I really resent this forced change. I feel like something is being taken away from me, and I do not trust what is supposed to replace it. Will I be able to get my free channels?

I can’t afford to replace my televisions, but even if I did, I don’t believe they would receive as well. And I recently saw a program that claimed that VCRs will work, but will not do a timed recording after being hooked up to the converter.

The change is just wrong. It is an infringement on my freedom.

I think it is just a way to force people to pay for another kind of signal. I don’t trust the people who run this country. We are paying more than $4 for gasoline, health care is unaffordable, and now this being forced down our throats.

Yeah, you can buy a new set that doesn’t need a converter box, but it will cost a lot more than the old stuff. These costs are being forced on us by an uncaring government.

Am I the only one upset about this?
