BRUNSWICK – Two students have been awarded the Michael Francis Micciche III Memorial Award at Bowdoin College. The award was announced May 7 at the college’s annual Honors Day.

A Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar, Nicole Marcia Willey ’08 of Lewiston, is a gender and women’s studies major with a minor in teaching. She participated in the Study Away Program at Stockholm University in Sweden. Willey is a graduate of Lewiston High School.

A two-time Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar, Emily Meeds Coffin ’08 of Lexington, Mass., is a government and legal studies major with a minor in Spanish. She participated in the Study Away Program at Middlebury College.

The award is given annually to that individual who embodies the entire Bowdoin experience; who engages the college community, achieves academic excellence and earns the respect of his or her peers and professors. The individual must plan on broadening his or her education following graduation, either through enrollment at a graduate school or through a structured travel or volunteer program.
