RUMFORD – The Stephens High School class of 1948 has had to cancel its 60th reunion that was to be held Saturday, July 19, at Teena’s Restaurant on Route 2.

Letters to classmates who had planned to attend are being sent out. If anyone has questions, please feel free to call chairman Nick DiConza any time at 364-7348.

Church luncheon

RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church will hold a fellowship luncheon immediately after the service Sunday, June 29. All who attend the worship service are invited to attend.

The worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Kelly Harvell in the pulpit. The church is celebrating its 100th anniversary of the Virgin Chapel.

During the summer short skits have been presented representing a period of its history. Peggy Welch and Esther Aiken (read by Martha Hanington), whose families were active in establishing the church, will talk about Sunday School days in the early 1960s.
