DIXFIELD – There will be a Fourth of July Concert in the G. Dana Holt Gazebo at the Village Green. The Dixfield Economic Development Council is proud to announce that one of Dixfield’s newer residents, Sammie Angel, will be performing beginning at 5 p.m., weather permitting. The rain date is July 5. The concert is free to the public, compliments of the Council. Refreshments will be for sale at the Green.
Sammie Angel has been singing since she was two years old and has had a career that has taken her from Texas to Florida and north along the Eastern U.S. up to Lake George, N.Y. Since 1995 she has performed in Maine during the summers and recently moved to Dixfield to start a new venture with her husband, The Front Porch Cafe.
In her career she has appeared with or opened for such names as Reba McIntyre, Tammy Wynette, Bo Diddly and more. Her repertoire is extremely varied and she has wide appeal to her audiences.
The Council is hoping that this will be the first of several summer concerts to be held at the gazebo. If you are a performer and would like to give a presentation, please call Norine Clarke at 562-8816 during the day.
