LEWISTON – Alfred J. Berube, 86, of Oak Park died Thursday, June 26, at d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Grand Isle on May 22, 1922, the son of Francis and Vitalin (Thibodeau) Berube.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during World War II.
Following the war, he worked for more than 35 years in the local textile industry until his retirement.
He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, puzzle making and loved dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Therese (Lussier), whom he married on July 3, 1947; his daughters, Diane Flagg of Lewiston, Marguerite Edwards and her husband, Mike, of Wisconsin, and Denise Cloutier and her husband, Ray, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Agathe Sutton, of Auburn; and sister-in-law, Marie Ange St. Pierre of Caribou.
He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
