BOSTON (AP) – The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office says it has reached an agreement with Super 88 Supermarkets over failure to pay minimum wage, overtime, Sunday and holiday pay at its six greater Boston stores.
Corporate officers George and Peter Luu have agreed to pay $175,000 in restitution to more than 300 current and former employees, along with a fine of $25,000 to the state.
The attorney general’s office says the investigation began in March 2007 after former employees began complaining that Super 88 did not properly pay them. A payroll audit shows the incidents go back to 2006.
The settlement requires the company to begin a program to comply with the Massachusetts Wage and Hour Laws.
