LEWISTON – Jeanne M. Ricker, 75, of 65 Cumberland Ave., Lewiston, died Thursday, June 26, in the company of her family. She passed away at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Service in Auburn.
Born in Lewiston on June 4, 1933, Jane was the daughter of Leon and Blanche Garand Marois. After attending Lewiston High School, she married George F. Ricker on June 5, 1954, who passed away on Aug. 28, 1996.
Besides being a homemaker, she worked for many years as a waitress and cook at the family business, Marois Restaurant, as well as working in the local shoe industry.
She was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Parish.
The joys of her life included her family, playing cards with her sisters, camping, and holiday get-togethers, especially Christmas. In addition, for many years she enjoyed playing in a cribbage league at the Pastime Club.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey, of Poland; four daughters, Gale and her husband, Thomas, Shannon of Lewiston, June and her husband, Lloyd Magnuson, of Butte, Mont., Tina and her husband, Daniel Jordan, of Turner, and Carol Landry of Lewiston; two sisters, Antoinette “Toni” Orestis of Auburn, and Muriel “Bea” Martin of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Castonguay and her husband, Deryck, Amanda, Ryan and Cassidy Shannon, Trey Magnuson and wife, Julie, Kelly Magnuson, Troy Jordan and his wife, Tami, Becky Jordan, and Nathan and Matthew Landry; five great-grandchildren, Makenzy, Ryleigh, Peyton, Emma and Lauren, and one more great-granddaughter on the way, Karlee.
She was predeceased by a son, Russell R.; and a sister, Theresa Rioux.
