NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) – A physical therapy doctoral student has won the Miss Connecticut 2008 competition and will vie for the Miss America title in Las Vegas in January.

Ashley Glenn was crowned Miss Connecticut at the Garde Arts Center Saturday night. The 23-year-old Glenn receives a $10,000 scholarship.

She performed a lyrical dance to the popular Broadway song, “The Impossible Dream.”

Glenn, a Hamden resident, is in her second year of graduate studies at Quinnipiac University.

Twenty women from Connecticut competed in the 80th annual state pageant.
