AUBURN – David “Al” Levenson, 81, passed away Sunday, June 29, at Clover Healthcare after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born in Boston, Mass., on Aug. 27, 1926, son of Mollie and Albert Levenson. He graduated from English High School in Boston, and attended Brown University in Providence, R.I., where he majored in engineering and enjoyed many sports, including swimming and handball.
He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS St. Paul as a radio technician.
Al was the owner of Al-Jo Sales of Auburn and Granite Sales of Natick, Mass. He enjoyed skiing and vacations in Cape Cod with his family and was a longtime Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan; his two daughters, Patti Levenson of Auburn and Nancy Levenson of Washington D.C.
He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Bean; and his brothers, Herbert and Paul Levenson.
