LEWISTON – Jean Paul Charpentier, 67, a resident of 100 Elm St., Sabattus, died Friday, June 27, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and has returned to his beloved wife, Jo’Anne, on the very day of their wedding anniversary of June 27.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 22, 1941, the son of Edward and Laura (Morin) Charpentier. He attended Auburn schools. He retired from Bath Iron Works in 2003 after 16 years of service as a yard rigger. He also retired from the U.S. Army after serving 26 years for his country.

He enjoyed working around the yard, woodworking, spending time with his sister Cecile, his sons Jimmy and Joey and their families, and doing special things for his grandson Tyler. He spent every week looking after his “grand doggies” Penny and Radar and was looking forward to meeting his new granddaughter Sophea. This loving and generous man will be sadly missed by his family.

Survivors include two sons, James Roland Charpentier and Anna Ridley of Bowdoin and Joel Edward Charpentier and his wife, Nicole (Gagne), of Auburn; one brother, Edward and Irene Charpentier of Florida; four sisters, Pauline Morin of Lewiston, Cecile Couillard of Lewiston, Connie Corkery of Sabattus and Eva Dackmine of Lisbon; one grandson, Tyler James Charpentier of Bowdoin; and soon to be arriving granddaughter, Sophea Ann Charpentier.
