LEWISTON – A funeral Mass for Alfred J. Berube was held Monday at Holy Cross Church, after prayers from the Guy B. Dostie Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan March celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Alfred’s daughter, Denise Cloutier, accompanied by her husband, Ray, delivered words of remembrance of her father. After the committal prayers, soldiers from the Army National Guard in Augusta played taps in honor of Alfred’s service to his country during World War II. They folded the flag and presented it to Alfred’s wife, Therese. Pallbearers were TJ Canning, Joel Desmarais, Todd Perreault, Larry Flagg, Brian Flagg and Ray Cloutier. The family continued the celebration and memories of Alfred’s life with a reception at Grid-Iron Restaurant.
