BETHEL – People won’t be able to enjoy traditional fireworks in Rumford on the Fourth of July, but at dusk on Saturday, there will be a fireworks display behind the Bethel Inn and Country Club.
The display concludes activities of the 19th annual Bethel Art Fair being held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the town common, according to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robin Zinchuk.
“It’s our Independence Day weekend celebration, so we’re moving ahead with it,” despite increased costs for fireworks this year,
Zinchuk said by phone on Wednesday afternoon.
Contributors behind the display traditionally held on the first Saturday in July are the Bethel Inn, chamber members and the towns of Bethel, Hanover and Woodstock.
