LEWISTON – A memorial service honoring the life of James C. Rioux was celebrated on Wednesday at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond L. St. Pierre, Lewiston Police Chaplain officiated the service. At the beginning of the service bagpiper, Detective Scot Bradeen of the Lewiston Police Department opened the service with gathering music. Welcome and opening prayer and scripture reading was done by the Rev. St. Pierre. Sharing of family memories were expressed by various family members. A video tribute and time of reflection followed. Words of remembrance was then expressed by Chief William Welch of the Lewiston Police Department. The service was then concluded by a message of hope and assurance by the Rev. St. Pierre. After the services at the funeral home, the Lewiston Police Department and honor detail led the funeral procession to Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus for committal prayers, recited by the Rev. St. Pierre. The U.S. Army played taps and presented our country’s flag to Chief William Welch, who then presented the flag to James Rioux’s wife, Catherine Rioux. All in attendance were invited to share a time of fellowship and refreshments at the Jacque Cartier’s Club in Sabattus.
