ELK CITY, Okla. – Shannon Troy Ayo, 34, passed away unexpectedly June 22, at his home town in Elk City, Okla.
He was born in Baton Rouge, La., Feb. 10, 1974, and lived for a short time in Prairieville, La., then in his youth moved and resided in Lewiston and Auburn.
He attended the Lewiston-Auburn school system. In his early teens, he moved to Denham Springs, La., to live with his father. He graduated from Denham Springs High School and then received his associate degree at Lee College in Texas.
He resided with his long-time girlfriend, Brenda Ibreom, in Elk City and was employed at Frank’s Oil Field as a supervisor at Elk City.
He was an avid outdoorsman, but his true passion was fishing. He had a good outlook on life and was a jokester, always making people laugh. It was seldom not to see a smile on his face.
He is survived by his parents, Rachel Ayo of Sabattus and Eugene Ayo Jr. of Texas City, Texas; brother, Michael Ayo of Skowhegan; his maternal grandmother, Bernadette Turcotte of Lewiston; paternal grandmother, Betty Veazey of Prairieville, La.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Christina Ayo; maternal grandfather, Jean M. Turcotte; paternal grandfather, Eugene Ayo Sr.; and paternal uncle, Russell Ayo.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
