BRUNSWICK – Matt Verrier ripped a game-winning three-run double in the 10th inning to lead Bessey Motors to a 9-8 victory over Brunswick in American Legion Zone III action Thursday.

Ryan Yates picked up the win in relief of Tucker Hill, who pitched the first seven innings. Verrier and Dan Millett had three hits each for Bessey Motors (6-1). Millett and Dillon Trundy also had doubles.

Verrier’s heroics came after the two teams swapped two-run outbursts in the ninth inning.

Matt Liskovitz and Josh Clark each hit a double to lead Brunswick.

The teams played a second game that ended in a 6-6 tie due to darkness.

New Auburn 11, Northern Oxford County 2

RUMFORD – Eric Prue smacked three hits, including a solo home run in the sixth inning, and Shane Ciriello went the distance on the mound to lead New Auburn to an 11-2 win over Northern Oxford County.

Mike Muise had a double and a single for Post 153 (4-3), while Ciriello and catcher Mike Lutz each had two hits.

Justin Staires belted a home run in the loss for Northern Oxford (3-4), and pitcher Matt Laubauskas suffered the loss.

Andy Valley 13, Swansey-Torrey 1

TURNER – Colby Youland pitched a five-inning no-hitter and Zach Keene hit a three-run triple to highlight an eight-run outburst in the first inning to lead Andy Valley to a 13-1 win over Swansey-Torrey Post of Dixfield.

Danny Buzzell also hit a triple for Andy Valley (1-5). Buzzell and Taylor Baron had two hits each. Youland had four strikeouts.
