BOSTON (AP) – The search continues for a 60-year-old man who apparently fell overboard off a pleasure boat in Boston Harbor.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Connie Terrell said a Coast Guard helicopter searched at first light Friday for Anthony Tufo of Quincy. A Coast Guard cutter and vessels from several agencies, including the state police, continued looking into the afternoon.

Terrell said the summer air and relatively warm 65 degree water improve Tufo’s chances of surviving. Terrell added Tufo’s family has said he was in good physical condition.

But she said Tufo was not wearing a life vest.

The Coast Guard was called at about 6 p.m. Thursday by the 34-foot Nina Maria. The crew reported one of its passengers had fallen into the water near Deer Island.

The boat was en route to the Winthrop Yacht Club.
