LEWISTON – Roger J. Deschaine, 68, of 9 Gartley Road, Lisbon, died Thursday, June 26, at Central Maine Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Frenchville on Sept. 29, 1939, he was the son of the late George & Helen (Picard ) Deschaine, and was educated in Frenchville schools.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Church of Lisbon Falls and worked as a truck driver prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed playing (cheating at) cribbage and was quite competitive. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, and Minnie.

Our dad will be remembered for being a prankster and making people feel at home.

He is survived by his wife, the former Simone M. Levesque, of Lisbon, whom he married on April, 1959; his daughters, Karen H. Diviolini and her husband, Robert, of Kittery, and Diane M. Dillon and her husband, William, of Portland; his sons, Roland Deschaine and his wife, Iris, of Ettlingen, Germany, and Luke Deschaine and Phyllis Breton of Manchester, N.H.; his grandchildren, Bianca, Jenny and Christina Deschaine, and Hadley Dillon; his sisters, Florence Bouchard of Madawaska, Jeannine Michaud of Lisbon, Irma Russell and her husband, Real, of Madawaska, and Marie Gross and her husband, Burnie, of Florida; his brother, Reno Deschaine and his wife, Chris, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Therese Ulshafer; and his brother, Romeo Deschaine.
