Lewiston – Emile R. Therriault, 80, of an Auburn residential care facility, died Monday, July 7, at CMMC after a long illness. Born in Lewiston, April 20, 1928, a son of Hector and Bernadette Pelletier Therriault. He was educated at St Mary’s in little Canada, graduating from St Dom’s in the mid-1940s.
He attended Sacred Heart Church, deeply attached to St Peter’s, and worked at Auburn Die Company for 33 years as a tool die sharpener and, in retirement, as a greeter at WalMart for 13 years.
He enjoyed watching sports, working around the house he so dearly loved and providing sustenance to his family by his on-going dedication and hard work.
He loved to laugh, to entertain those close to him, keep his property well-maintained, being by the love of his life’s side (“Mom”) for 60+ years, spoiled by “daddy’s little girl,” upholding his sons in a way he only could give expression to and spoiling his pets.
He will be remembered for his heart; a kind, gentle soul that vascular dementia inevitably robbed him of and ultimately took reign of his bewildered, oft-misunderstood, twilight of his sojourn. He is survived by his wife, the former Constance B. Belanger of Sabattus; a daughter Venise Michaud and her husband, Joseph, of Sabattus; two sons, Dennis Therriault and his wife, Rachel, of Lewiston and Ronald P Therriault of Sabattus; his grandchildren, Christopher and Bobby Therriault; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeannine Gilpatrick of Wakefield, Mass.; and a brother, Norman Therriault of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Therriault.
The family would like to thank M-1 of CCMC for their EXTRA-ordinary care of Husband/Dad during his final hours and to M-4 of CMMC for their care of Mom during her simultaneous hospitalization.
