LEWISTON – Jean D. King of Wilton passed peacefully at CMMC on Sunday, July 6.
The only child of Norma and Herbert Durrell, she was educated in Wilton schools and graduated from Wilton Academy, Class of 1961.
She married Palmer King of Livermore, the love of her life, on Feb. 8, 1964. He died on March 15, 2003.
Jean enjoyed travel. Her theme song was “On the Road Again,” by Willie Nelson. She was an artist, using oil paint and computer graphics. She designed several Web sites for local charities and organizations and was a Cyber Angel protecting youth online.
She will be remembered for her photo “Last Flight of the Eagle,” which she took while working for the Morning Sentinel, covering the fire of Wilton Academy. She had many interests including gardening, photography, genealogy and four-wheeling. Her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her mother, Norma D. Hosfelt of Wilton; son, Terry King of Jay; daughters, Catherine King of Wilton and Shirlene Leavitt of East Wilton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
