Lewiston – Virginia E. “Ginger” (Turgeon) Bouchard, 90, of 87 Gagne St., went home to the Lord on Monday, after a short illness.
She was born in Duluth, Minn., on June 29, 1918, the daughter of Emily and Frank Turgeon. Her family relocated to Maine at an early age. On Nov. 22, 1941 she married Clovis J. “Butch” Bouchard with whom she had three children and shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.
After raising her family, she went to work at Martel School serving hot lunches to the students for over 10 years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, senior trips and spending time with her family. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and an active member of the Holy Cross Senior Citizens. Her greatest passion was her family, and they were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Clovis “Butch” of Lewiston; one daughter, Dr. Susan J. Bouchard and her husband, Dr. Jon K. Evans, of Hawaii; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Murray and her husband, Paul, of Sandwich, Mass., Wendie Bourgoin and her husban, Don, of Wales and Kerrie Childs of Auburn; 10 great-grandchildren, Dominic and Paige Bourgoin of Wales, James and Matthew Murray of Sandwich, Mass, Kendra Wilson of Mechanic Falls, Kailee, Cody, Kassee, Katherine and Caden Childs of Auburn; four siblings, Al Turgeon of Sabattus, Jeanette Gagne of Auburn, Rosalie Feeney of Oregon and Dot Bilodeau and her husband ,Donald, of Lewiston; a special daughter-in-law, Martha Bouchard of Rockland.
She was predeceased by two of her children, Sandra Denney in 1995 and James Bouchard in 1997.
