Auburn – William F. Royal, 85, died Saturday, July 5, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born on March 23, 1923, in Richmond, Va., a son of William F. and Cecelia D. (Jenkins) Royal. He attended John Marshall High School in Richmond, Va., until he joined the Navy during WWII. He had many interests and occupations throughout his life. In his later years he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan. He loved to follow Virginia College Football and the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by a sister Eleanor M. Dixon of State College, Penn., 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces.
