LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen will hold a public hearing on July 21 on changing Union Street to one way to allow more parking spaces, including two for handicapped accessibility.
Selectmen chose the design that would gain the most spaces by having parking spots laid out diagonally, board Chairwoman Louise Chabot said Tuesday.
That option would allow 22 spaces, compared with nine spaces that are there now, she said. The road would be one way from Church Street to Pleasant Street.
Traffic coming and going from the medical practice of Franklin Health, formerly known as Rockomeka Family Practice, and an apartment building, both at the intersection of Union and Pleasant, would be able to access those entities’ parking lots as they do now from the Pleasant Street end.
The proposal will go before townspeople at a hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the Town Office.
