Strawberry fest

BUCKFIELD – The annual strawberry festival and yard sale will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until sold out Saturday, July 12, at the Legion Hall on Route 140, Morrill Street. There will be mature perennials, a bake sale, white elephant table, hot dogs and strawberry shortcake. Proceeds will support the American Legion and Auxiliary and local charities.

Potluck supper

NORWAY – A potluck supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Masonic Hall, 9 Temple St. Cost is $5. It is sponsored by Order of the Eastern Star and Masonic Bodies.

Craft show

BRIDGTON – Craftsmen and artisans will gather to show and sell their products and demonstrate their crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, at Narramissic, the Bridgton Historical Society’s Peabody-Fitch Farm, Ingalls Road, off Route 107.

Among the pieces on display will be furniture, tools, jewelry, wood carving and fiber arts. There will be food, tours of the 1797 house and family activities. Church supper

NORTH WATERFORD – A public supper will be held at the North Waterford Congregational Church, 5 Kezars Road, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15.

The menu will include baked beans, American chop suey, casseroles, salads, brown bread, rolls, beverages and strawberry shortcake. The price for adults is $7, child under 12, $3.50.

Regular Sunday worship services are being held at 10 a.m. at the church for July.

Hymn sing

WATERFORD – There will be a community hymn sing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Waterford Congregational Church, Plummer Hill.

All are welcome to join in singing hymns, and have ice cream sundaes with homemade sauces.

Farm festival

BRIDGTON – Local food, products, music and art will be celebrated at the annual Bridgton Farmer’s Market Festival from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

Maine farmers will be on hand with fresh produce and other local products. There will be demonstrations on floral design, cooking with fresh herbs and home gardening. Antique tractors will be on display and live music will be provided by the Highland Strings Trio and the Low Tide String Band.

Inside the Community Center there will be a chance to explore organic handmade skin care products. The art of David Casagrande will also be on display. There will be activities for children.

The festival is taking place the same weekend as Art in the Park and the Bridgton Community Center Flea Market.

Exhibitors needed

HARRISON – Scribner’s Mill Preservation will hold its 16th annual “Back to the Past” at Scribner’s Mill, turn-of-the-century homestead and sawmill, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2 and 3.

The event organizers are looking for exhibitors who would like to demonstrate “old tyme” trade and homestead activities. For more information or to register, call 583-6455 (mill).
