Auburn – Burton R. McIntosh, 85, formerly of Moody Road in Lisbon died Tuesday morning, July 8, at Clover Manor in Auburn where his family was by his side when he passed on to be with the Lord. He was born in Lisbon Falls on Oct. 17, 1922, the son of Eugene and Methyl Estes McIntosh. He was educated in Lisbon Falls schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 14, 1941, where he served his country as sergeant of the 660th Field Artillery Battalion. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 21, 1945.
On Aug. 22, 1944, he married the former Dorothy Ouellette. Together they made their home in Lisbon and raised their three children. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls. Among his interest were caring for his home, gardening and spending time with family and always unselfishly helping family, friends and strangers.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Auburn; his daughter, Janice McIntosh of Woolwich; his two sons, Dennis and his wife, Carmen, of New Gloucester, and Blinn and his wife, Corrine, of Lisbon. He also leaves a sister, Alice Ricker of Lisbon, seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
