BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Douglas Alan Pohl, M.D., Ph.D was born June 15, 1951.

On July 7, Doug was taken from this life while returning home to his family.

Doug was passionate about life. Above all else he loved his wife Susan and his boys, Ben, Nick and Michael. Doug was a wonderful and generous friend to all who knew him.

He was loved and respected by friends in the professional and medical community, as well as his friends in the aviation world.

He is the loving and cherished husband of Susan Margaret Pohl; loving father to three sons, Benjamin Douglas (Kimberly), Nicholas James and Michael Jonathan; and loved son-in-law of Nancy Heugh; other survivors include his brother Robert; sisters, Christine and Lynne; cherished by numerous nieces and nephews; as well as numerous family members who will hold his memories dear.

He was predeceased by his mother, Marie; his father, Alvin; his brother, Spencer; and father-in-law, John Heugh.
