DIXFIELD – Larry J. Paine, 72, of Newton Avenue in Dixfield, died unexpectedly, Monday, July 7, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1935, in Rumford, the son of George and Betsy (McIntire) Paine.

He worked for nearly 30 at Stowell-MacGregor in Dixfield. He was a long-time member of the Poodunck Snowmobile Club in Dixfield and enjoyed many years of grooming and maintaining trails in and around Dixfield. His favorite time of year was winter when it was cold and he could snowmobile.

He was an avid outdoorsman-hunting, fishing, and trapping with his brothers in his younger years. He liked the Boston Bruins hockey team and often talked of the Dixies hockey team. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and sharing it with his family. He enjoyed the out of doors and riding his bicycle. He took great pride in maintaining his home and property.

He is survived by his children, Robert Paine and his wife, Christie, of Weld, Cynthia Cormier and her husband, Henry Jr., of Mexico and Crystal Noyes and her husband, Daniel, of Peru; a brother, Richard Paine of Dixfield; grandchildren, Shannon Frost, Samantha Cormier, Ashley and Betsy Noyes; three great-grandchildren, Allysia, Hana and Natali of Freeburg, Ill.

He was predeceased by a sister, Janet Paine; a brother, Bartlett Paine; and longtime snowmobile friend, Charlie Wright, all of Dixfield.
