TOGUS – Roy C. Roy, 86, of the Lisbon Senior Village, Lisbon, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in Rumford, June 1, 1922, the son of Pierre A. and Zenaide Roy Roy. He was educated in Rumford schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married Aug. 30, 1941 to Dolores Cloutier, who predeceased him Dec. 12, 2005. He was employed at Bates Manufacturing and Edwards Mill and retired in 1985 from Falcon Shoe Co.

He was a longtime, very active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 106, and the Wallace Assembly fourth degree. He was always available to help his council and could be seen working in the kitchen, helping at beano and the Festival de Joie and visiting the sick members of the council at area hospitals and nursing homes. He was a member of the K of C bowling league and he and his wife Dolores had been honored one year by being named King and Queen of the annual 4th degree May Ball. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon.

He is survived by his wife, Anita (Morin) Giguere of Lisbon, whom he married June 3, 2006; a daughter, Joan Cline of Man, W.Va.; two sons, Gerard Roy and wife, Connie, of Winthrop and Marc Roy and wife, Terry, of Lewiston; a daughter-in-law, Louise Roy of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by all his sisters and brothers.
