This is in response to the front page article July 7, “Wealthy Americans ignore high gas prices, hit the road.” Nowhere is it mentioned about those not so wealthy who went on some high-priced trips (such as Wildlife of the World for $64,950 per person) when gas was cheap, mortgaging their homes to do it and now can’t afford the mortgage payments. I have heard that Congress is going to have the government pay the mortgages.
I wonder who really is going to pay? Could it be the American taxpayer?
