OTISFIELD – Michael and Jill Picone of Tuscaloosa, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Marie Picone of Tuscaloosa, Ala., to Benjamin Tyler Wood of Otisfield, son of Glenn and Kathryn Wood of Otisfield.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Annella Adkisson of Klamath Falls, Oregon and the late Vincent and Eunice Picone of Park Forest, Ill.

She is a 2001 graduate of Central High School, Tuscaloosa, Ala., with an international baccalaureate diploma. She graduated cum laude in 2005 from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and French. She is presently pursuing a master’s degree in nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., where she expects to complete her degree in 2010.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the Rev. Jean Kiskaddon and the late Charles Graham Kiskaddon, both of New York, N.Y. and Samuel and Geraldine Wood of Orangeburg, S.C.

He is a 2000 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, South Paris. He graduated summa cum laude in 2004 from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in classics. He earned a master’s degree in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School, Cambridge, Mass., in 2006. He is presently pursuing a Ph.D in counseling psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., where he expects to complete his degree in 2011. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

An August 2008 wedding is planned.
